A Jacksonville landmark, reimagined
Arble’s second Jacksonville location is planned for the former Edgewood Bakery site, in partnership with Community First Credit Union of Florida.

Honoring what came before
Edgewood Bakery opened in 1947 and became a beloved Murray Hill landmark. Gary and Sandy Polletta operated the bakery from 1992 until their retirement in 2014, and the bakery closed in March 2016.
Community First purchased the site in October 2024. After hearing how strongly residents wanted a warm food experience to return, the credit union partnered with Arble, a Black family-owned bakery with deep Jacksonville roots.
“We definitely want to pay respect and homage to the legacy that is in place while bringing to the table a family that has been part of Jacksonville for three generations.”
Community First + Arble
The new branch is being shaped as a place to bank, eat, gather, and remember the history of the site.
A fully equipped space where Arble can serve baked goods, desserts, sandwiches, and more.
A shaded front lawn, outdoor social area, and community room for neighborhood events.
Restored elements from Edgewood Bakery, including its neon sign and neighborhood memories.
A partnership shaped by Murray Hill residents and their desire for a welcoming food experience.
From Dunn Avenue to Murray Hill
The Murray Hill location will carry the scratch-made baked goods, desserts, artisan sandwiches, and catering favorites Jacksonville has come to know at Dunn Avenue.
Arble also plans to invite the neighborhood to help name a signature oversized club sandwich with ham, turkey, roast beef, bacon, and cheese on artisan bread.
Projected hours reported in press coverage are Monday through Friday, 11 AM to 5 PM. Opening hours have not been confirmed.
